Aerial AssaultSTORY / GAMEPLAY
You control a prototype fighter plane code-named "Freedom Fighter" which actually looks like an F-15 . Your ultimate goal is to defeat a terrorists organization named N.A.C. You fly through five different missions encountering enemy jets, combat helicopters, submarines, armed jeeps, parachute bombs and several other enemies; they all must be destroyed. Shooting certain enemies such as spinning fighters, small flying helicopters or mines on the final mission you'll earn power-ups to upgrade (or downgrade) your firepower. Every stage has different types of enemies and bosses who will force you to use different tactics. Aerial Assault is a classic and fun shoot 'em up and surely deserves to give it a try.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
Ok, technically this is a typical 8-bits shooter, having interesting backgrounds and nicely detailed (but tiny enough) sprites that move pretty fine on screen. The screen offers 3 levels of parallax-scrolling but the frame rate suffers a lot. The colors are limited to 16 max though the Master System could display up to 32 on screen. The level starts with the sunset turning the sky red but as you progress it gradually becomes darker. The sound is typical as well, featuring in-game tunes and the usual arcade shooting style sound effects like gunfire and explosions.
